Hello all. This is my first post and I am looking for some advice.

The interior light in my Servis fridge/freezer recently stopped working. Since this time, the fridge/freezer has constantly been ‘on’ and my turning the temp dial numbered 0-5 has no bearing on the actual temp of the fridge/freezer and ice is forming to the rear of the refrigerator.

Is this a problem with the thermostat and if so, how do you go about repairing it?

I am clueless when it comes to these kinds of problems and any advice would be greatly appreciated!.

Would need the model number to advise further as some are electronic control while others are plain ordinary fridge stats. If the latter, then the light failing is not related. Dont expect to turn the knob and get an instant reaction, they dont work that way.

I don’t have the model number to hand BUT it is the latter of the 2 you mentioned with just a rotary knob numbered 0 to 5 and definately not electroic control.

I know what you mean when you say that I shouldn’t expect it to go off straight away but I normally leave it on level 4 and whenever I have turned it lower it would knock off and then back on as and when required. My fridge has been ‘On’ for the last 10 days non-stop – even on it’s lowest setting!!

Just to confirm – the motor (compressor) is running all the time??
If so, you have one of three problems – a. the compressor is defective. b, the appliance is short of refrigerant. c, there is a blockage in the pipework which is not allowing the refrigerant to circulate. All these require the visit of a local service company which can be found at repairs@ on the home page. Good luck
