DIplomat dishwasher won’t turn on

Hi folks,

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help. I have a Diplomat dishwasher (I’m unable to find a model number) which has the ‘buttons’ on the inside top left hand side of the door.

Usual procedure is to turn it on and then hold down the start button, at which point a ‘close door’ light comes on and away you go.

The close door light isn’t coming on and the machine is failing to start – any ideas why this could be?
