I recently posted a question about my diplomat washer/dryer on this site. Thank you so much for your help, I now have a manual, have worked out how to make the dryer work, and it does not seem to be leaving black marks on the clothes any more (touch wood).

However, having achieved all that, it has now stopped spinning. It washes the clothes but only on a slow speed, leaving them soaking wet. I have tried putting it on a spin only cycle, at full and half speed, as well as a rinse and spin, with no effect. I have cleaned the filter, and I have also checked whether it’s an imbalanced load by removing items like towels and trying again, but no matter how big or small the load it won’t spin.

    Please can anybody help?

There’s a good chance that your module (control card) has failed.

The part number should be 546013501, cost about £42 exc VAT.

On occassion we have found that the bearings have been slipping on these and replacing the module hasn’t cured the problem. We’ve had to change the drum (for the shaft) and the bearing assembly to get it spinning properly again.

For that reason I think it would be best to have an engineer check it out for you.
If the machine is still under guarantee call MFI on 08457959722, otherwise check Repairs@ for a local engineer.

    Craig
