I have had a Hotpoint WMA34 for just under 4 years, and the water has started to remain in the machine with no pumping action at all. We hear a whirring noise, but there is no spin action either. Is this a fixable problem – and is it worth fixing?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Most definately worth fixing, the machine will not spin if it cannot empty. The pump may have a blockage or be faulty. The cost of a pump is around £20.
You do have a five year parts warranty but Hotpoint will charge you just under £90 for the labour.

Have a look here to see if we have someone in your area.

Please make sure you remove the plug if you intend to attempt to repair yourself.

Thank you very much for your help. It was a problem with the pump – we found an elastic band tied around it, which we removed, and now it’s working fine!

    Thanks again 🙂
