oven fan problem

    Hi,

    I have a Neff double oven U1421N0GB/01 8001. The bottom oven is a fan oven. The fan is temperamental. Some times it will not start unless I rotate the temp control on and off a few times. The fan also turns mostly at a slow speed and so the oven doesn’t cook especially well! I can, if I’m lucky, by rotating the temerature knob on and off, get the fan to speed up to its normal operating speed but this is a real pain.

    So, whats wrong with it? New motor I guess…or could it be all “gunged up” and sticking?

    Looks like a new motor requires fitting. Remove electrical supply if you are going to have a look yourself. The oven will have to come out(heavy). Check out Repairs@ on LHS of page if you require an engineer.

    Is it an easy job for the fairly competant amateur to replace the fan motor….any tips.?

    I read about the left handed thread on the fan nut!
