If you bought a dishwasher within the past several months, it could be part of a nationwide recall.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled thousands of Kenmore and Whirlpool dishwashers because of a wiring problem that could cause a fire. The recalled appliances were sold nationwide between June of last year and January of this year.
Whirlpool has received three reports of overheated wash motors but no injuries or property damage.
The recalled washers have one of the following model and serial numbers:
Whirlpool: model numbers begin with du1, dul, gu1, gu2, gu6; serial numbers fr2200000 to fr2499999
Kenmore : model numbers begin with 665.143, 665.160, 665.163, 665.170, 665.173; serial numbers fr2200000 to fr4599999
