What’s the coconscious of opinion on the causes and cures for nasty black mould on door gaskets and soap dispensers disgustingly gunged up with black gunge?
I presume the dispenser problem has to be with the customer’s water supply and maybe they should complain to their water company?
The black mould in door seals, is it not using enough detergent? Or leaving the door open or leaving it closed? Or something else? I’ve been to one today and she says she leaves the door constantly open when not in use.

I am convinced it is an algae problem, it is exactly the same mould you get round the bath or the shower. It is quite bad round this area. I do not have a problem on my WMA door seal, but the soap dispenser needs a regular clean to remove the black gunge, it is sometimes jelly like as well.
I never leave the door open, Use Daz Tablets, maximum of one, break it in half for small loads and use good quality fabric softener. At least one 60° wash every week.We have very soft water.

the black mould ect is due to the new powders ect not containing the same amout of bleach and phostates ect and not carrying out the high temprature washes.
the best temrature for bacteria to grow ect is approx 40oc and thats the temprature most people now use or lower.
use a boil wash 95oc weekly and it reduces the possibility of this happening.

I reckon underdosing the detergent will be part of the problem.
