I changed the bearings and seal on my LG 1 year ago as they had completed gone. Now 1 year later the same has occurred again.
However when I changed the bearings last year there was still a little play on the drum after fitting. I’m worried either the bearings I bought last year were slightly faulty (there was a dent on one of the bearings) or that the inner-drum shaft was/is worn.

I’ve now bought some new bearings and seal and I’m now considering whether it is worth buying the shaft – though the shaft is going to cost me £100 as it includes the inner-drum.

Can someone give me some advice on what to do.

    Thanks for your help

There should be near as spit no free play at all on the drum. You need to check for fit of bearings into tub housing (interference fit), also condition of shaft. Any sort of grooving where the front bearing sits on it renders it scrap. Also, consider how the machine drains. If it’s couple to the sink, this can drastically reduce the water flow rate. If the water cannot get away quickly as it picks up to spin, this will lead to rapid bearing wear. Check filter and bottom hoses, same applies.

LG is a generally decent brand – consider how much to get a replacement of similar quality, and fixing it properly would make sense.

Thanks Penguin45. I’ll go for it and get the drum.

    Thanks for your advice.
