Before I attack my machine – FJ1296 type P6297236,product no.914787502/01 – can anone tell me how easy/difficult it is to get to and replace the drum bearings?

When it goes to high speed spin the bearings sound like they’re running dry (quite loud) but there are no knocking or banging noises.

    Thanks

Not an easy one I’m afraid 🙁

The whole drum has to be removed then split in half, you are looking at a two hour job (at best) if you haven’t done one before.

The bearing kit is this one:

You’ll also need the tub seal:

Power off please before going in :zap: and good luck 😉

    Dave.

    Cheers Dave,

I came across another posting in the forum where you helped someone with exactly the same problem.

Looks like its going to be character building!

Will I need to get hold of a bearing puller to get the bearings off the spider?

    Thanks.

You shouldn’t do, hopefully the bearings will remain in the drum.

    Dave.
