KeymasterI have a CANDY F211X oven which cuts out after ~30mins of use.
What could the problem be?
Ventilation?
Failed thermostat?any suggestions?

KeymasterVentilation is a possibility as is the thermostat. It will be cutting out on the safety stat at the back or top of the inner casing and that could also be faulty.
We’d need a bit more info to help any further.

I checked the ventilation fan. It works, although not much air flows through it. (a very gentle breeze) Could the motor be turning too slowly?
Also what kind of cleaseance should be provided at the side, top and bottom of the oven, from the kitchen wooden cabinet?
Observing the layout of the air pasages it seems that the fan will suck (or blow) air from the bottom of the oven door, , through the side of the door, up inside the oven where the knobs are, inside the top passage in the oven, through the back and out at the bottom of the oven. Is it the possible route?
I have access to a multimeter. is there a way to test the thremostat without having the oven connected to the mains? (what does the thermostat look like?)?
If you need specific info, please ask and I will try to provide it.
Many thanks

KeymasterIt i possible that the tangenital fan motor is faulty but it’s unlikely and you will only get a gentle flow of air from it.
If we’ve got to explain what a thermostat looks like I’d have to suggest that it’s engineer time in all honesty. Do the wrong thing in there and it could prove nasty, we don’t want that.
The most likely failures are the main oven thermostat or the safety stat and the main oven stat is normally closed, opens on temp. Ditto the overheat but to fully test them properly takes a little skill.

Thanks for the advice.
I will check that the thremostat circuit is not open.
Just to put the installation issue at rest. Should the hob be insulated from the oven?

Just moved into a house with exactly this model – and confess that I can’t even get the oven switched on? I have selected various temps and modes. Have left the time dial well alone. All relevant plugs appear to be on. Still no joy. Any ideas?

Ah sussed it – the timer dial has to be set just to the left. Bit fiddly.
