    Hi All
i have an ariston margherita 2000 awd12s advantage which is about 12-18 months old. recently it has developed a loud rumbling on the spin cycle.
I’ve stripped the back off and the back bearing and housing is showing no signs of wear. Is there a way i can get the drum out to see if there is some sort of internal obstruction or is it a sealed unit?
    thanks in advance

Probably the bearings I’m afraid Simon 🙁

With the power off :zap: remove the belt and spin the drum by hand from inside the door, don’t spin it by the pulley on the back it’s dangerous !

If it rumbles you should be able to pinpoint the source of the noise 😉

The bearings and seal are contained in the cross piece on the back. The tub itself is a sealed unit.

If you wish to check this out further, exercise extreme caution around the rear access panel, as the edges are horribly sharp.

Power off before removing any panel.

Thanks for that chaps, roughly how much is it to replace the bearings assuming theres no further wear and tear ?

The labourl vary regionally to be honest, the bearing kit should be around £20-£25, so as a ballpark very rough figure £70-£90 (ish) inc.

Check Repairs@ for an engineer and you can discuss labour rates directly 🙂
