Not many of these about round here, first one I have ever seen, I don’t have a manual for this one. Customer says she thinks the start button is faulty but cannot remember if it should stay depressed when pushed in or come back out, similar to the T/Dryer start button. She says she could not get it to start and that both the indicator lights, ‘On & In Progress’ are on as soon as the on /off button is pressed, she is sure that the In Progress’ light should only be on after the start button is pressed, the start button feels positive, it does not stay in. Closed the door and the machine worked OK. Tried two or three times and it worked every time.
looking at PartFinder this switch is over £31 plus vat, I don’t want to order one just on the of chance it may be faulty.

Anyone had any similar problems on this dishwasher.

I think the start button just overides the null position on the timer by energising the timer motor direct. As such it won’t stay in. I believe the timer is in the base of the machine and the program has to end once it’s started unless you [as an engineer] turns the timer manually by taking of the kick strip..

You will find a wiring diagram on a piece of paper by the timer.

I suspected the start switch was OK. Have done the odd one of these in a basic model but this is the first integrated one with the five push buttons on the lip of the door I have come across.

Just going to have to have a look for any dodgy connections etc, first then.

Also found out that I do have a manual on this, it is included in the DF53/4 manual. 🙂
