Hopefully this question isn’t too off-topic for this forum.

Is it possible to modify a fridge to regulate humidity? I have an application where I need low-ish temperatures (between 5 and 15 degrees C) and high humidity – around 60-80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. Some wine coolers claim to do this, but none seem to have a humidistat – they just claim they keep the humidity high.

In case you are curious – the application in question is meat curing (i.e. Salami’s & chrorizos). Typically you could do this in a cellar (if you have one) or a shed – but only in the winder/autumn months. Using something which is controllable like a modified fridge, one could do it all year round.

I would doubt that a domestic would fit the bill in all honesty but I’d bet that there’s a commercial machine that will do it, no doubt at a price though. 😕

If anyone can point me to a commercial machine that does this – i’d appreciate it.

Sorry aris I don’t know of any although I’m sure they’ll exist but they won’t be cheap I’d imagine. Some of the guys on here do commercial sales and service and they are far better placed to advise than I.
