KeymasterHi mannged to get rid of the foam but cycle not finishing just keeps oing on for hours water not getting hot? What could it be?
heard could be flooded base plate but where is this and what does it look like?

It will have tripped the heater safety cut out by the sound of it, model number please to advise further, APL??? AHY??? from around the door normally.

This is a Brandt built machine.
There’s a resettable thermostat at the back of the sump (behind the lower spray arm). If the heater’s cut out then you’ll need to press the button on this.
There’s also a chance that the sealed base has flooded and activated the anti-flood switch. The water will need to be drained from the base to release this switch.Power off please if you’re going in :zap:

Just one thing how do you drain the water from the base to release the anti-flood switch. Step by step guide would be helpful. i have taken off the plinth but doens’t look clear what i am looking for/

I have a Diplomat ADP 8221, and put washing up liquid in – loadsabubbles!!! It’s now running cold! Does this machine have a resettable thermostat? It also flooded – could this be that the sealed base has flooded and activated the anti-flood switch? Anyone know if/how I can fix this, it doesn’t say in the instruction manual.

Yes it does. If the base had floodedit wouldn’t work at all so i think you’re on the right track 😉
Power off before attempting the reset please :zap:
