We have a Lec 550CW Larder fridge which is around 6 years old. Recently it became a little tempremental and there were small pools of ice on some foods. Then it stopped altogether, decieding to start again as its replacement was unboxed! It chugged away for 30 minutes before stopping again. Its been like this since. Turning it off and on will sometimes start it, sometimes it won’t; ditto turning down the thermostat. Its questionable whether its worth repairing, but if its something cheap and simple, it could be.
If this helps :
– it does suffer from a lack of ventilation and recently the air around it has been hot.
– as mentioned, it was forming ice and the drain tray aboe the compressor was full
– my wife overfills it (have to blame someone!)
– the door trim (not seal) is corroded
– the compressor (when it runs!), does get very hot – touchable, but you wouldn’t want to hang onto it.
Any ideas? Your help very much appreicated.
