    Hi,

I have a “tecnik” branded dishwasher. A brand I’ve never heard of, almost certainly installed when the house was built more than 10 years ago. Its an old fashioned machine with electro-mechanical controls etc.

Recently, it’s not washing very well. Spray arms, filters, etc are all free. The circulation pump runs but the pressure/flowrate doesn’t seem great. I’ve had the thing upside out and in bits to make sure there were not any blockages in the internal tubes. I can turn the impeller in the pump by hand, but it’s not exactly free spinning.

I was toying with the idea of dismantling the pump housing, but I suspect it would never go back together without leaking.

    So:
Would dismantling the pump be a waste of time?
Is there any way I can test the flow rate?
Will it be worth buying a new circulation pump (assuming I can get one)
or should I just throw the whole thing in a skip?

    Cheers,

    Dan.

Possibly the best solution, but first, give us the model number(s) and we can frighten you with the cost of a replacement Circulation Pump 😕
