KeymasterWell, I am amazed; having endured some time without the fridge section of my FF Hotpoint Mistral fridge freezer, I eventually called in an engineer. It is exactly the same problem as so many of your previous “inputters” that it is spooky. However, my kindly engineer has diagnosed the problem to be the thermistor and is desperate to fix it for me. Hotpoint however are refusing point blank to supply a part number without a model number and as the only ID label was amazingly affixed to the wet, regularly wiped inside it has rubbed off. In the absence of the handbook and without any support from Hotpoint I am totally stuck! All I can recall was the model number started FF…, is almond in colour and is the bigger model of the two Mistrals Intelligent care available about 6 years ago. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in Hotpoint as I have faithfully bought them for years. Can anyone help?

Did he say which thermistor Georgie ?
The most common two are the one’s in the freezer easily identified by the colour of the plugs on the lead ends.
See 2600283 and 2601683 at the top of the products here:

One of them will be the one you need I think 🙂

Thank you for your prompt response, much appreciated. The cable part he showed me had yellow “chocolate block” connections. Would that be relevant? Sorry, not technical, hence the engineer! Forgot to mention that fan worked on straight wiring so that is not the problem.
Cheers!

Must appear a right duffer! Should have looked at the web link you supplied before replying! Thanks for that; I take it this is a generic connection and the elusive model number is not essential?
G 😳

Well, it fits most Mistral models prefixed FF?? 🙂
I can’t 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} without the model, have you checked beside the salad bin ?

Yes, sticker just above it, completely useless. No worries, think it’s worth the risk. Thanks v much for your help. You are a star. Now what excuse do I have to go to the pub for a properly chilled brew??

Sorry only me again…After my initial euphoria, I have spoken to my “fixer” and he now says that he is not sure which thermistor it is, only that it is the one that works the fan 😕 Can I confirm with you which one that would be? What a palava! Maybe I’ve found my true vocation in thermistors….Good advice to all, especially the blokies, yes you DO need that instruction manual!!
Thanks once again
Georgie

The one I posted the link to above (yellow plug) 😉
It’s not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of course but that’s the usual culprit.
