Working on a pretty basic WP washer, if you select a program the timer clicks and moves on a notch and does nothing else.
Checked interlock, which is ok, so replaced module/timer – same thing!
Doesn’t look to have diagnosis, but don’t know?
Going back to have a closer look at motor…
    Anyone come across this before?
    Cheers

I`m not sure if the 5145 does this but I`ve been to whirlpools before that shut down if the brushes are worn. Because whirlpool machines turn the drum before filling they then sense the drum isn`t turning and shut down.

I`ll nearly put money on it being the brushes……..

I’ve a feeling that an open circuit pump does the same thing.

    Your right bob it would.

The thing to try is just put it on a spin programme, if the pump is o/cct then the drum will still turn. If not then my money is still nearly on the brushes.

If the drum does turn then check the wires at the two way plug just to the right of the pump they often break there.
