I bought a BEKO ZC130 upright Freezer last year for use in an open dining kitchen. We find it very noisy and have turn it off when eating in the room. Is there a way of checking noise levels on freezers before purchase?

It is an under counter freezer and we are restricted on width.

    Bob,

If it really is that noisy that you have to turn it off AND it is still under warranty, then I would suggest you have it looked at. 🙂

It may be uneven? the transit packaging could still be in place? touching pipework behind? or even builders rubble causing the noises?

We’ve seen it all before and it’s worth a look at least 😉

Most of the manufacturers websites list this sort of information on the spec pages for each model.

the decibel rating for the appliance, should be on the energy rating sticker that you get when you purchase the appliance.
of course not everyone has a decibel meter, so, as martin says, it would be a good idea to have it checked out.
noises are often just the pipework of the appliance vibrating against either the cabinet or some other pipework. still, better to have it checked out.
