hi lee, i’ve used qer for about 12 years now and find them ok.
next day service is good, but you’ve got to send them the old module back sharpish, otherwise you get charged again.
certainly better than paying new prices and, depending on the age/condition of the appliance, using a recon board would probably swing you the job, whereas a new one would be too expensive.August 26, 2005 at 4:00 pm #145944Martin

Only thing to watch out for when sending a PCB in for repair is that they often come back un repairable which means a wasted few days at the very least.

much better to send for a pcb (if it’s in stock) then send the old one as replacement.
i find this works for me, i used the service last week for a fridge module.August 26, 2005 at 6:30 pm #145948andy2

Yep, QER are OK but they can be a little long winded occasionally if you send a module for repair (if they do not have stock).
Also, always make sure that you check out the new price first as they can be cheaper than QER sometimes or so little difference that you might as well go for new.
eg. Indesit EM13SF – QER £19.50 +VAT OR SEME £19.72 + VAT New!

One point to remember is that there is not normally any guarantee with a new module if fitted by anyone other than the manufacturers engineer / subcontractor. The repair firms will generally repair the board again free of charge if it fails within a given period.

The trade companies I buy from will certainly accept back a faulty part, you will require the invoice number you purchased it on to get a credit and of course the faulty part.
We have just returned an Indesit Diswasher circ pump which failed after 1 months use, along with an AEG dishwasher pcb which lasted 3 weeks, without problems.

Another advantage with QER and EMW is you can send it back for a partial refund (50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} QER) if fitted but did not solve problem (i.e. you diagnosed it wrong – of course it’s never happened to me 😉 )
EMW’s 2004/2005 catalogue says “£4.70 handling charge only” for wrong diagnosis. You’d have to check if this is still current. -
