Can anyone help me out with a Hotpopint Ultima WMA60?
The machine doesn’t turn at all during a wash or spin. I’m fairly sure that the problem is the belt either snapped or loose – it’s certainly not around the drum, anyway! I can take the top off the machine but can’t work out how to get the back off, it seems to be moulded and attached all round. Any advice?

The back is not removerble on these machines , and if you need to replace the belt they can be a real pig to get on as they are a stretch belt and access is very limited. My advise would be to call an engineer because youll probably end up removing all the skin from your knuckles trying to fit a belt

I have an ultima 1400 and if your machine is anything like mine you can get the belt off without any trouble.
First of all take the top off the machine after making sure it is unplugged from the mains. You wouldn’t need the back off, even if it wasn’t spot welded on for cheapness.
Just ease it off the the drum pully a little bit at a time like taking a tyre off a bike wheel. You could always loosen the bolts on the motor bracket if it’s too tight which you will have to do anyway to adjust the new belt.
I managed it without any trouble whatsoever. However yours might be different to mine which is a WM76. The belt came off like peeling an orange. In fact I’ve had the belt off it several times to check different things. If the belt is loose as you think, it should fall off
In having said that I have a feeling that there is a lot more wrong with your machine than a siezed or damaged belt. .
