Please don’t keep blowing fuses etc as you will ultimately damage other components in the dishwasher.
Whatever is causing this will need an engineer to diagnose for you to be honest, it could be the heater, one of the pumps or a simple damaged lead shorting.
Hopefully you haven’t blown the main control unit/timer (I can’t check without a model number) 😉
Have a look at Repairs@ for an engineer to come and check this out for you 🙂

Good, it’s not electronically controlled then so the damage should be limited hopefully 😀
To remove the water, don’t switch it on !! You’ll have to do it manually I’m afraid with towels/mugs etc 🙁

KeymasterYou could gravity drain it, but you’d need to drag it out and dangle the drain hose lower than the level of the water, a set of steps to the outside is ideal. Other than that you won’t be able to do it without power.

KeymasterRe: Hygena intergrated dishwasher blowing fuse and fuse box
hi, thank you for your response,
sorry i thought there maybe a plug or something somewhere!!!!!!!! (typical woman!)
so do have any ideas what it could be? would the loop on the door(that ive read in a few other replies on the forum) be worth looking at?August 27, 2005 at 10:39 am #145979admin
Keymasterhi would the heater safety thermostat cut out cause the fuse to blow?

No. The safety stat basically acts like a fuse and goes open circuit to prevent any further damage. It does not cause any damage to other components and will not cause a fuse to blow.
The problem will lie elsewhere.Craig

Participantdo you think it may be the loom on the door! do you think its worth checking?
August 27, 2005 at 12:08 pm #145982admin
Keymasteryes it must be a damaged lead shorting in the loom

Participanthi, i know this probably sounds a stupid question to you electrical proffessionals but if i unplug my dishwasher is there any electricity in the machine?
i ask this because when i changed the fuse in the plug and pluggled it into the plug socket the fuse blew without the dishwasher being switched on!!!!!!!
thank youAugust 27, 2005 at 12:29 pm #145984Dave_Conway

Please take my advice from last night and call an engineer before you do any more damage to the dishwasher or yourself 😉
We cannot as responsible engineers advise any further as it is quite evident from your own admission that you are not electrically competent.
Please also disregard the guest post of “it must be the door loom…” it may be that but it could also be a number of other things.

Participantok. thank you very much for your advice, and i do understand your reasons for me not to investigate atall,
however i will have a go at a few small things that seem really straight forward and easy, as alot of other people on the site have that probably lack as much electrical knowledge as i do but have not been as straight and thorough as me to ask the simpilest questions first,
thanx again, kind regardsAugust 28, 2005 at 10:19 pm #145986lmcc67

hi, i just wanted to say a big thank you to all the brilllant electricians/technicians/engineers on this site as by reading through lots of their replies to other people with similar problems i had with my dishwasher, i was able to fix my dishwasher and check and clean other parts to prevent them from causing other problems and i am about to cancel the call out technician/engineer that i had contacted yesterday! once again many many thanks, you guys are brillant!!!!!!! (now onto the hoover problem!!!!!!!). 😀 😆 😀
