ParticipantThe above oven model no.FX6449E12 cuts out approx. 1 hour into its pyro cycle (approx. 5mins after it reaches pyro temp, 500C). Everything goes off apart from the pyro symbol on the front of the display. I`ve only been out to one of these, counting this one. The de-dietrich web site only has limited info and only in French and although I`ve got `O` grade french they didn`t teach many words associated with pyro ovens funnily enough.
Has anyone any experience with these ovens or can anyone email some service info.( in english!!!)
The door switch and cooling fan are operating properly and I`ve checked all the wiring for loose connections. My next step would be the control board but I bet this would cost an arm and 4 legs.
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Thses have had numerous modifications because of temperature problems. The cure will prolly depend on the version you have but it will most likely involve replacing the clock, control pcb, temperature probe and probably all the ribbon connectors too 🙁
….and at twice the price of an arm and four legs!!!

Standard DeDietrich tech advice for fault-finding:
Replace all boards then see if it’s helped any. If not, replace all boards a second time and hope for the best. After that, you’re on your own.
Clivejameson has just bumped the tip of the iceberg for what you’ll probably end up going through unless they’ve sorted themselves out since we last had any involvement with them 🙄
I’m sure that they did have English tech info available on-line at one time, but I can’t access Agora anymore to check. I’m sure that someone who still drinks from this poisoned chalice could take a look for you.

I went on the website myself and it told me that “the information I requested was not available in the language of my choice please choose from the list below”. The list then went on to list………………. you guessed it……… French!
The oven is 5 years old so if I quote for all boards (twice) I`m pretty sure they wouldn`t go for that.(hopefully)August 30, 2005 at 3:40 pm #146182NWAR

That and the massive delay for the spares to actually arrive. Unfortunately that’s the situation we found ourselves in all too often. 🙁
kwatt’s had a good look at some of these Pyros (I think he even had one of the Brandts 😡 ). He’s not in the office right now but if he doesn’t pick up on this later try dropping him an email.

I have had a pcb on order for one of these since Febuary this year. Seeing as Brandt spares have swopped to Electrue I doubt I will ever get it, but the customer hasnt chased it so I guess they may also have given up hope.

Hi Bazza,
Sorry I’ve been out the office for a few days.
Craig is correct basically. You can try the door lock as they had hellish problems with them giving all sorts of weird errors but I strongly suspect that it’s going to be the control PCB. Trouble is that on most of these, they are linked to teh PCB that sits behind the clock as that is the user input board essentially and they do fry, one often causing the other to break oh, and the door lock can short send the board to the electronics graveyard as well.
It is my opinion that the PCBs are just too fragile basically, look at them the wrong way and they pop. I would never attend a call for a fault like that without both and, as has been pointed out, they ain’t cheap.
They’re okay when the work though… 😉
