ParticipantHi
Door started not closing completely and hanging beyond the floor parallel when down. Over a period this became worse and sometimes the door sprang off it’s hinge on one side or the other.
Oven is 6 years old and hasn’t been abused.
The receiving plate on the oven chassis does seem worn but the hinges on the doors seem fine and very highly sprung.
I’m reluctant to call out an engineer from Neff and they charge a £60 callout covering the first 30 mins …. the hinges and bearings cost a total of £45 from Neff so I’d like to try and fit them myself.
The door hinges are easier enough to replace.
Having taken the oven out, it seems like you must need to remove every panel on the oven to get at the receiving slot (‘bearing’?).Can you let me know if it is possible to get at them reasonably easily (something I have missed).
If it isn’t and both hinges and receiving ‘bearings’ need replacing, how many hours of labour do you think are required.
I need to decide whether I should scrap it and by a cheaper brand.
Many thanks in advance.
Paul.

Probably just needs hinges,TBH.
No need to remove oven from housing for this.
See manual as to how to remove door.
Power off first,just in case.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I was hoping it was the hinges but it seems that they are fine …. very highly sprung and straight.
The receivers on the other hand are warn. The right hand one is also slightly off set and it is not possible to straighten it with the screw that secures it to the front of the oven.
I think I need to get to the receivers but for the life of me I can’t see how to do so. The back comes off but the sides and the bottom seem to be spot welded on something on the inside.
Do you have any clues as to how I can get access to them ?
Many thanks in advance.
Paul

Job can be done fairly easily and quickly(when you know how).
Unfortunately we can’t go into detail on here for legal reasons.
Time to call someone out methinks 😉
