Diplomat Dishwasher

    I have a Diplomat ADP 8242 dishwasher purchased January 2003. It fails to start fairly regularly – the program light flashes ( the program we leave it on ECO ) but the selector function is frozen and if you switch off and switch on again and press the main slector button you just get 2 beeps and nothing else. When it has happened before I have switched it off and left it overnight and teh fault clears. I had someone to look at it – he wasn’t sure but said the circuit board is rubbish and said it needs a new one at £150.

    It does seem to point to the PCB but other components in these can cause odd software errors…

    Have a look here Repairs@ and ask for a second opinion just in case 🙂

    Could also be the door lock sticking in the ‘closed’ position. Usually caused by the fascia cracking internally.
