ParticipantHi
The original fault on this D/W was that the door could not be opened at the end of the cycle. An ‘Extracare’ engineer visited, forced the door and diagnosed the door switch assy.
The customer was later informed that the machine could not be repaired by them as they no longer had an engineer in the area, call out a local repairer and they would pay the bill.
When I visited the door switch assy was broken but i decided to bypass the micro s/w and check the machine before I ordered parts.
I discovered that the machine wopuld not start, and that the 4th light from the left hand side (Normal wash) flashes and after a few seconds the machine beeps.
The nice lady at Extracare could not trace this as a valid fault code, any info would be appreciated.
Thanks Andy 😀

The nice lady at Extracare is right – this is not a recognised error code. The 4th light should never flash on it’s own.
Try the reset procedure in case the board got a little fright when the door was wrenched open.Craig

Craig
I have tried holding the select button whilst switching on but no luck.
If this is not the reset proceedure could you please instruct me otherwise.
Thanks Andy

Serious case of brain fade ,I was thinking of expert appliance care 😳
thanks for putting me right ,Funny thing is I have an appointment with a neurologist this afternoon due to a bout of memory loss and muddled words 😆 following a middle ear infection

Aaagh!!
I tried the reset proceedure it went into its test program OK.
When I tried to cancel the test according to the instructions it would not happen.
Eventually left it to complete the test sequence and it went through OK to the end – no errors – everything seemed to function OK and all the lights flashed signifying the end of the test sequence.
Switched off the machine and on again to see if it would allow me to select a program, but no joy! It reverted back to its original fault except that now the first light flashes instead of the fourth.
I think that this is because it has reverted to its default startup – prog 1, the lady normally uses 4 and it normally starts up showing this light.
Its looking like a module fault to me as everything seemed to work on the test, it just won’t accept a program, but would appreciate any suggestions before I order one.
Andy 🙂

think i had similar fault, bypassing the door switch did not allow the d/w to reset its self on the program, at start. door switch needs to be off o/c to reset and select programme. and then when door closes it would start.
definitatly sounds similar
hope this can help.if i’m on the right track.

Tell – sounds good to me – never thought of that!
Obviously the s/w would be open with the door open.
Will try that – Thanks
