    Since a few weeks ago the programme dial on my Indesit w/d sticks between 4 and 5 whereupon the wash stops. I then only have to edge the dial on one notch/click and the wash then continues.

    When the dial gets to just before 7 (spin) the wash stops again. This time I have to turn the machine off, turn the programme dial a full 360 degrees to just on 7 and then switch on again and the machine spins.

    I have been told it is a control module problem that will cost £140 to repair inc labour. Is there any chance I can repair it myself? I feel sure it is intact and just that the programme dial is malaligned inside by a few teeth/cogs. Or is it a wiring problem? In either case I would appreciate any advice and or suggestions where I might be able to download a a repair manual or wiring guide for the machine.

    Also a few days ago the soap tray stopped emptying properly (not enough water going through?) Is this likely to be a related or separate problem and what can I do on this score.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Is this machine actually a WDG1095WG

    If so this is unlikely to be a control module fault, the module on this machine is a motor speed control module only.

    Service manuals are not available in any legitimate form, would strongly advise that you get a second opinion, try looking here

    Your guess as to the fault being the control timer may not be far of the mark but my original advice still stands. Please pull the plug if you intend to go further.

    When you say the soap tray stopped emptying, do you mean the fabric conditioner compartment was full of water or that the soap was not being flushed out of the drawer.

    The soap tray is the problem. Soap doesn’t seem to be emptying from the drawer.

    And sorry re the model. It is officially a WDG 1095 (printed on front of machine) but the model handbook says WDG 1095W.

    Poor soap dispensing is usually caused by low water pressure. What type of detergent do you use. The Ariel & Daz tablets will dispense with fairly low water pressure without clogging the drawer.

    Detergent I use currently is loose powedered Ecover (trying to be Eco friendly!) However the Arial and Daz tip gratefully received!
