The ignition switch on our Whirlpool gas hob suddenly stopped working – no clicking, completely dead.

I’ve checked the wiring into the circuit that the cooker is on – no problem there and the cooker works fine, I’ve taken the switch out of the hob and it still seems to be connected up fine.

Could it have got wet and just needs to dry out (a non-electrician speaks) ?? or is it knackered, if so, where can I get a new switch

    cheeers 😀

It’s almost certainly the switch but if it has got wet then it may dry out and work again. Leave the power off for a couple of days and try again, if it doesn’t work then post up the model number from the underside of the hob and we can check the details for you.

Power off when working on it please :zap:
