KeymasterBeen thru about 10 pages of the message board trying to make note of how many flashes mean what.
Thing is it’s my mums machine and she has no internet.
Apparently the machine goes on to fill and then machine click clicks and light flashes etc. Sounds to me like the main motor but apparently it sometimes works again if you un plug it for half hour or so.
Don’t s’pose anyone could post the list of usual errors that I might expect to find. She said it flashes a few times but with my mum that could be anything between 3 and 30 😉
You could even add this to a FAQ page if you did, save you answering the same questions all the time.
Cheers Folks

Dazza,
Indeed these machines and this problem has been encountered within these forums many many times. Use the ‘search’ facility to find specific problem models.
Make, model number and serial number is all important to use for identification.
The total number of rapid flashes between the longer pause gives the ‘error code’ by the way. 😉

Yeah did find a few of them in the previous 10 pages 😕
I’m not that electronically minded. Usually can’t get them back together once I’ve dismantled things.
It’s about 2 years old so she’s probably had her money’s worth out of it. Hardly any of the “chains” do Indesit machines anymore, presumably because of all the faults like this.
Anyone recommend a reliable “cheapo” brand? What are those Beko machines like? Or what makes would you recommend steering clear of?

KeymasterAs our own Goatboy’s signature states, there’s no such thing as cheap and cheerful, just cheap and nasty. 😉

LOL
Fair comment, but for just 2 people doing one or 2 washes a week no point spending £900 on a machine when £250 will surfice. 8)
Poxy things are disposable at the end of the day. So long as they’ve lasted long enough to have cost you less than the laundrette you’ve had your moneys worth. 😉
When she bought this one about 2 years ago it was about £160 and they wanted £150 for the cover plan. She’d had bad experiences with the cover plan engineers on the one prior to this and ended up still having to replace it after being promised for 3 months and 6 engineers visits that the part was on it’s way etc, so didn’t bother.
She’ll be the same with this next one, spend as little as possible and run it until it dies……

£160 to £200 spent on a replacement machine every 2 or 3 years sounds an expensive way of doing your weekly laundry. 😥
It would be far better to invest in a more reliable machine and therefore cut out that unnecessary expenditure of having to get it replaced 😀
Man controls machines but cheap machines control man :lesson:
