Looks like it overfilled (had A01) took off inspection panels behind plinth, sure enough plenty of water. Dried it out, A01 went – then started running fine. Had A02 a while later, powered off and started again….started up OK, now have A09 – it drains, fills (well the softener fills anyway) but never fills the actual washer. Is it likely the pump motor is cooked (it may have got a little damp? I had a fan heater on the insides for a couple of hours to clear the A01 ….

    Thanks

Yes, A09 is a circulation motor fault 🙁

Probably caused by the water in the base, if on further inspection (power off :zap:) it proves that’s the fault, part number is C00097302 at £96.11 plus postage from Merloni.

If you’re unsure then a click here Repairs@ should provide an engineer to make a diagnosis for you.

The initial problem of the “overfill” may also need to be rectified of course 😉

    Dave.

Thanks – I think that the overfill was due to the filter being full of food residue (bay leaves too!!) as it certainly hasn’t leaked any more and it almost ran a full cycle. I’m going to leave it to dry for a few days, I hope that it may fire up then, but guess it could be cooked. Fed up with this Ariston cr*& – we have all Ariston appliances and they are all a liability!
