Can anybody enlighten me about this b*****?
Rather like the one described by geoffmackay in late August in this forum.(I’ve pm’d him).
When motor reverses to drain, it only does a 2 second burst then the relay in door is heard to click. This is repeated 2 or 3 times interspersed by a buzzing sound. Then it runs for a while, apparently in the right direction, but doesn’t seem to have enough torque to pump out.
It runs fine in the wash direction.
4uf checks ok. Drain hose not blocked. All plastic bits in sump checked and re-installed. Have brought away small module from inside door panel for examination.
Timer no sign of burning. Could the solenoid? thing on the tube that goes to the upper arm be sticking open? Would that cause it?September 9, 2005 at 4:10 pm #147066streetlighter

Hi
The only pump fault I have with these is the blade is stripped of its fins.
New motor I fit but you can get just the blades if you can work out which ones you want.
They do make some weird noses as they jump programes.Paul

The pcb in the door pulses the pump 3 or 4 times then it drains normally till the timer advances – this is to prevent air locking (allegedly)
If the rear set of impellor blades are intact then it might be the float valve on the salt reservoir (behind the inlet valve)

Thanks guys,
Didn’t even clock that there would have to be blades on the back of the impellor 😳
Will go back for another look next week.September 19, 2005 at 12:03 pm #147069leavemetogetonwithit

Pulled out motor, found silver foil in entrance to rear chamber. Re-assembled confidently but still no joy. 😥
Rear impellor”blades” don’t “look” damaged but do seem implausibly small. Could they have all been neatly stripped to exactly the same shape or are they always so small?Cheers,Mike.

If something goes through the pump then it can strip the entire set leaving them all neatly trimmed back.

Check that the plastic drive shaft has not cracked.

Many thanks to all who helped me with this one.
New impellor arrived today and it has quite obvious reverse blades, so that was indeed the fault.
Cheers,
Mike. -
