I’ve got a Rangemaster 110 gas hob / double oven, serial no. 5331 001748. The problem is that the clock / timer display intermittently flashes, or resets to zero with ‘AUTO’ displayed. In either of these states the ovens do not work, ie no gas supply or spark. When the display flashes, pressing reset sometimes sets the clock back to zero and it counts up as normal and the ovens work OK. However if ‘AUTO’ is displayed pressing reset or any other button / combination has no effect – you have to wait for the clock to reset itself. This has been known to take 12 hrs ! I guess the oven not working is because it thinks the clock/timer is (being) set – I’ve noticed previously that following a power cut the clock flashes and needs resetting before the ovens will work.

Is the clock / timer a replaceable module, or is there a dedicated circuit board to replace ? Alternatively, could it be a bad connection / dry joint ?

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Hi Pug,

You have covered most of the probable causes yourself but you are strongley advised to call in a corgi registered operative as to replace the timer is a major strip down job and it is all too easy to dislodge internal pipework whilst doing this job. try the repairs@ for a local corgi registered repair guy.
