The freezer compartment of our frost free Blomberg CFFN311 has completely thawed.
The red light is permanantly on and the motor comes on for a few seconds and then goes off again.I assume the thermostat has probably gone. Is it worth getting it fixed/replaced or should we get a new fridge?. We bought it in 1997.

I’m sorry to have to say that it sounds more like the compressor than the thermostat. It sounds like it is trying to start but then the compressor start relay is cuting out. The main cause of this is usually either a total blockage of the system or the compressor has burnt out. not a DIY job i’m afraid. 😥
