    Hi,

Please could someone point me in the right direction? (please bear in mind that I have no technical expertise!).
I have one of the above as part of a 8 year old built in kitchen, the fridge section (sits on top of the freezer) tends to freeze anything left in the plastic boxes in the bottom of the fridge, 😯 even with the temperature turned down to 1.5. Turning it to anything over 3 (out of 7) tends to freeze most items in the fridge (good for beer, bad for anything else!).
Obviously I could turn the fridge down to 0.5, but the scenario would infer that something is wrong somewhere!
    Help!

    Many Thanks.
    😆

    Hi Steb,

It sounds as though the thermostat has gone faulty. If your not technical
then why not try the http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … whitegoods for one of our guys to come and sort it out for you.

    Regards

    Doh! Nobody in my area!

    Any further ideas?
(It does have a tendency only to freeze salad by the way 🙁 )

Steb does it only freeze when set high but maintain a cold environment inside the fridge?

The reason I ask is that a few cabinets, some Kelvinator/Candy’s and Brandt’s in particular, don’t like being turned up much beyond what you say as they have stats tht can cope with Southern Italian ambient temperatures as well as Northern Europe as well and it may be that there’s not much wrong at all.

It is also likely that that cabinet, although I cannot access the spares stuff now to check for you, has a PCB control as a stat and they ain’t cheap. IIRC, the last time I bought one it was over £70, Brandt aren’t exactly reknowned for being cheap on the spares I’m afraid, so it may be worth considering just how much to spend on a machine of that age very carefully.

    K.
