ParticipantHi,
Great forum. Wish we had one like it for the TV repair industry (in Aust).
Anyway, I have a GW708U which works perfectly in all functions except that it is quite noisy, particuarly during spin.
It sounds as if the main bearings are dry and I am nervous that something is going to let go or worse. 😕
I had a good close look at the motor and surrounding area and can find no evidence of weeping …. yet! But I’m sure it will appear if I dont do something soon.
Is the bearing and/or seals replaceable or are they an integral part of the outer plastic bowl.
Thanks for any help,
Regards, Rogerdw.

The bearings and seals are replaceable, but require the use of special tools – walloping them out with a lump hammer and drift will damage the tank.
Probably time for some pro help.
Regards,

Participanti have just removed my bearings and seal because of the same noise. using a hamer and drift oops:). on removal found seal worn therefore bearing had water in them and were very corroded which made the washing mashine sound like a jet taking of on spin cycle.have ordered new kit which includes 2 bearing and 1 seal . part nuber for this kit is “425009 kit” i orderd the kit from http://albury.net.au cost aproximatly au$42. when i recive parts and install them i will tell you if it worked .

have reassembled mashine with new bearings and seal. it was easy to take apart but much harder to reassemble and would have been much easier with the correct tools. i have a fitting trade back ground and have changed many bearings so i felt confident enough to attempt this job. did my first load of washing but mashine did not pump out. read my topic “F&P GW708U not running flashing lights and beeping” for mor of the saga.
thanks gekko
