    Hi,

I have a Zanussi DW925, there’s water coming into the rear hose, the filter’s clean, all the internal filters are clean, but the machine has no water inside it, although it makes the usual noises. Please help me figure the problem out, thanks…..

Funny that, 2 of you with the same fault on the same series d/washer came in within a minute.

In both cases it sounds like the water valve has “locked out”.

Quick fix.. 1) Turn off the tap/water supply. 2) Unscrew the hose to release the water pressure. 3) Give the water inlet valve at the lower rear of the machine where the hose is connected a sharp tap with the handle of a screwdriver. That will release the shut off.

Now you need to investigate the reason why.

    1) Remove the large filter inside the D/Washer. 2) Look at about 4 o-clock and you will see a semi transparent cap held on with a single stainless screw. 3) Remove this cap and pull out the 2 syphons, 1 at a time. 4) Shake out any excess water and clean any grease form the syphon. 5) Put it back together, reconnect the inlet hose and give it a run on rinse and hold. (Prog D) 6) If no joy, then go to repairs @, you have done your best.

That was a good range of D/Washer and worth keeping running.

Done this, stripped filters inside the machine, but it still wont work, i took out all the fittings and filters, and theres a blue fly wheel (i think this is for the spray) this stays in one spot, even after the machine has been run, also it seems to be taking water into the unit, and also running the waste water out. Please can you help.

    Thanks

How much water does it take in? – should fill to around the grey nut on the salt container. If it fills to this level then you may have a pump problem, otherwise there may be a blockage in the horseshoe shaped hose underneath.

It’s not unusual for people to be mistaken and think the machine is not filling when it does fill but fails to pump the water round the tub.

If this “blue fly wheel” is under a half round cover at the rear of the sump laying across the machine it sounds like it could be the pump impellor. See if it will turn by hand, if not the pump has seized.

We have a Zanussi zdt6253. I have no idea how similar it is to your model but i thought my problem and solution might be of some use to you. We had error light 5 come up, and following much investigation I found no water was coming in. 1st thought were the solenoid valve on the inlet, but after reading a post on here i took the left side off and found gunk in the plastic tank. Removed the tank and flushed it out and this cured the problem(a lack cleaning was the cause i guess). I hope this is of some help.
By the way, does anyone know what the orange stuff is in the water tank? I think its something to do with decalcification but can’t find out any details about it. To my embarressment my 1st thoughts were that it was fat trapped in the system. Its in a rectangualr area in the middle of the tank and the inlet water flushes though it, my reason for wanting to know more about it is, does it break down and need replacing after time, if so how do you go about changeing it?

Yours is a bit newer than the one above and works a bit differently.

The orange stuff in the tank is as you correctly said for the water softner system – the reason you put salt in the container is to generate a brine solution which is then flushed through the resin tank to clean or “regenerate” it. As long as you keep your salt topped up regularly then the resin tank will work fine and stay orange / brown in colour. If anything fails in this area then it’s usually a complete new side tank although the solenoid valves are replacable.

    Hope this helps.
