ParticipantI need to change the door gasket on my Ariston Margherita AV1247C. I have a new gasket winging its way to me. How easy is it to change? Any pointers here would be much appreciated.

Also, can anyone tell me why my avatar doesn’t show up?

Go into Forums, then Profile and upload from there. It’s just about the only way that works.
The door seal on your machine is held by a wire band at the front (retaining screw at about 8 o’clock) and a second band on the tub front. This may be a screw clamp, a snail drive or a latch over type – you won’t know ’til you get in there. You will also need an enormous tyrap for securing the funnel to the dryer inlet duct.
Patience does the job, power off before doing anything.

Avatar works now!!
That doesn’t sound too difficult. Guess what I’ll be doing tomorrow if the sun isn’t shining.
Many thanks for help.

I haven’t replaced my door gasket yet as the part was waiting for me at the post office on my return from my holiday! As it’s tipping down today, I’m armed with screw driver and a ton of patience. This may seem like a dumb question, but do I need to take the top off the machine of anything like tht before replacing the door gasket. I have removed the first wire band and can see and reach the tyrap, and inner band.
Thanks

Tyrap??
As best of my knowledge this beauty has a wire band holding it to the tank that can be re attached witha long pair of pliers but it can be fun 😀
Patience is a virtue.Greg
As always unplug before attempting any repair :plug:

The second band is held with a screw clamp. Just as well I have small hands!!
Tyrap = cable tie; for the dryer outlet.
Thanks

I successly replaced the door gasket and it has been leak free for some weeks now.
Yes, it was a pain. I did end up with scuffed knuckles and bruised hands but there wasn’t too much swearing.
Thanks for advice everyone.
