ParticipantFree standing double oven and grill unit was cooking item in oven and went dead, no heat no digital clock no light. Changed fuse in plug and electrics now ok. Clock etc back on but light in main oven not working. Gas grill works fine but nothing at all from the main oven, no gas will not light manually. Suggestions?

Have you reset the clock and made sure it’s set to “manual” ? As that would stop the oven working.
It’s either that or a component in the timing/gas control area failed and blew the fuse which will need checking by a Corgi registered engineer. You should be able to find one here Repairs@ 🙂

Dave
Checked the clock timer was set to manual and it was. The oven strangely started working again today but I have now switched it off and called a Corgi man from your list. Clearly a component beginning an intermittent fault. Thanks for your help.

We have just moved house and seem to have exactly the same problem as Peter Smyth except that for the last 24hrs the oven hasn’t been working at all. Please could you give us some suggestions. We don’t know how old the oven is and don’t have a manual or model number; we know only that it is a New World Series 2 oven. Also the automatic lighter doesn’t light the grill and clicks only intermittently.

Without a model number its hard to give you a basic pointers.
If you have checked what Dave has suggested then realy you need to find a corgi guy from the engineer link from my signature below.Greg

ParticipantThanks but really begrudge the enormous call-out charge when I don’t know how old the oven is. However, have chatted to a New World person over the phone and he told me to make sure all the settings on the display were on zero. I did that and now the oven works. The display seems to be on all the time (or at least, has been since this morning). So this is a huge step forwards, but I would if possible like to know how to use the timer, clock etc. As I don’t have a model number I cannot obtain an instruction booklet. So does anyone know how to set the timer? There is a knob on the left, which if turned left or right subtracts from or adds to the number on the display. Then there is a knob which can be turned to any one of 6 settings: auto, ready, duration, minder, manual, clock.
