ParticipantHi, My dishwasher doesn’t seem to want to finish it’s cleaning cycle any more. Irrespective of what cleaning program is selected, when the timer display reaches 1minute, it freezes here and the dishwasher continues operating. The dishwasher is just over 5years old. Please could anyone provide any suggestions to rectify fault. Also, on occasions when selecting Normal Wash (65 Deg C) instead of the minutes being displayed for the length of the wash cycle, 2H was being displayed instead.

Not come across this exact fault on a Hotpoint, however I think this is a Bosch produced machine, could be that some of the Bosch experts may have seen it. There is a test procedure and service test programme to assist in fault finding, best left to an engineer with the required information. One problem will be that if the fault is in the control module ( it does sound likely ) then this is already listed as obsolete by Hotpoint/Indesit.
Not sure if a Bosch suppiled unit would fit, it may also be possible to have the module repaired if it is faulty.
Very little you can do yourself, best to have a look in.September 18, 2005 at 12:29 pm #147575Panny

Hi, iadom,
Many thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. As you have suggested the problem probably exists within the control module and I’ll probably have to resort to calling out a service engineer. Since my last post, the code 2H is now displayed continuously when the Normal Wash cycle has been selected, although machine still goes through a wash cycle, it doesn’t want to stop or dry the dishes.

You could run a service test programme then post the results and I may be able to be more specific.
With the dishwasher switched off, press and hold buttons for Normal Wash( S2) & Quick Wash (S4) simultaneously. Switch the dishwasher On then release buttons S2 & S4. Lights 2 & 4 should be flashing to indicate Service Programme is active. The machine will then go through ten steps taking approx 10/12 minutes to complete. Report back on any error numbers that appear in the display ignoring 1 if that appears.
If it will not go through this test sequence then the module will more than likely be faulty, very expensive and not now available from Hotpoint, But possibly repairable

Hi iadom,
Many thanks again for reply to post and information provided. Run the service test programme as suggested, but it didn’t go through the test sequence. Therefore, as you have already suggested I think I am resigned to a faulty control module. Once again thanks for your time and assistance.
