Servicepower joins consumer service network
Service management software maker cum field service engineering company, ServicePower, has become the exclusive UK partner of Elesco, a pan-European installation, service and repair network for consumer electronics and domestic appliances.
ServicePower Technology’s chief executive officer, David Brisco, explained that Elesco consists of a large group of service companies, who have come together to offer pan-European servicing deals to major electronic goods manufacturers, with a value added package that includes greater visibility on job resolution. ‘When jobs need to be done in the UK, they will automatically be given to us…and conversely, as part of the Elesco network we will be bidding for work with manufacturers in Great Britain, for work they need done in Europe,’ he said.
Previously, the company has only worked as a software maker, but following the acquisition of assets from US firm, Keyprestige, in March 2004, it is said to be moving towards becoming the manager of a network of affiliated independent service organisations.
Brisco went on to explain how the new partnership would work, saying that when ServicePower’s system gets sent jobs by Elesco’s call centre network, its software will automatically decide which of its own group of affiliated small servicing companies is closest, and delegate the job to that firm automatically.
‘In due course, we will be issuing a mobile phone to all of the small service companies. This will be used to send the information [about the job] directly to them whilst they are out and on the road, and they will then be able to accept [or reject] the job, and be aware what is going,’ he predicted, though he went on say that this facility is still in an early phase of development in ServicePower’s UK business.
The new partnership is seen as key to ServicePower’s development of its UK business, according to Derek Crumpton, the company’s vice president of operations for Europe. ‘We believe we can work closely with Elesco Europe to take advantage of the ServicePower relationships we have already developed…and build the relationships that most manufacturers and retailers now seek,’ he added.
