I just got a new LG Model LRFD25850SW french door style. It is about 3 weeks old.

    The display says ER DH

The user manual says nothing about error codes. The motor is running but it is not cold any more.

I saw where someone reported this same problem last June but never answered back with his model number.

What does this error code mean? Any help would be appreciated.

only a guess but Error Defrost Heater.

Therefore an engineer required….as it’s only 3 weeks old.

    Good Luck.

    Re: LG Refrigerator Problem

    Here is the resolution:

Called the home improvement store that we bought the LG from. They gave us an LG number to call. I was not too impressed with the stores “customer service”, they did not even ask our name. Called LG and they gave us a couple of service companys to call. First one said they do not service LG’s, second one we gave them the code and they said they had to send someone out.

A couple of days later a technician comes out, reads the code, calls in to somewhere, says we need a defrost heater and leaves. A few days later a second guy comes out with the defrost heater. He takes the machine apart, defrosts the equipment, looks at it and says we do not need a defrost heater, it is a circuit board we need. Says that part will take 3-5 days to get.

We now go back to the home improvement store and say we want a replacement, they do not have any in stock. So, we settle on a GE refrigerator instead.

Here is the best part. Three weeks later the LG service company calls and says the part has arrived!

Lesson learned. Do not buy an appliance from a company that is new on the scene. Especially one you expect to last many years. I guess I am glad it broke early, so we could get rid of it.
