    I’ve had the washing machine for 5 years with no problems .. but for the past 3 washes , it seems to get stuck only in the spin mode. I’ve had to manually try and get the drum rolling then switch the machine back on. When it does get in the spin mode , it makes some weird loud noise then the noise disappears. Any ideas on how to repair this fault ?? Is the belt out ?? How do i check?

    We’d need a model number to help much.

    But, it’s most likely to be a PCB or motor failure.

    hi k, thanks for the reply … didin’t manage to get a model no. but it is a ‘rainwave 1100’ series…would this be of any use in trying to locate the fault? cheers n.

    Model number is located on the inside of the filter flap, it begins with M and 4 digits. The same info is on a label on the rear upper casing as well.

    And yes – it is crucial to fault finding, especially on the Servis range of washers.

    ok , model number is M911W. I have checked the belt and it seems fine. Had operated the machine yesterday , and now it isn’t draining the water , so i guess that it’s time for a replacement.

    OK, does it spin if the water is drained manually ?

    It may just be the pump, in which case the machine will not spin if there is any water left in it.

    Also have you checked the filter is not blocked. Have a couple of towels ready when unscrewing. Try to get as much water out as possible first.
