ParticipantHi all,
I have recently cured a leak on my dishwasher water softener only to find it leaking from the lower left hand of the door. I have noticed that
the door seal has a rubber “boot” on the left hand side at the bottom. On the right hand side there is no “boot”. Should there be one?thanks

The lower door seal should go right across, the full width of the door. I don’t quite know what you mean by “boot” to be honest.
Has something been disturbed perhaps when working on it ?
Dave.

Dave,
The door seal starts at bottom left, goes up and over and finishes bottm right and doesn’t look as though it should go across the bottom. At the bottom of the left hand side there is what appears to be an extra piece of rubber which is roughly 1 inch long and is moulded in a shape similer to a boot. The door closes onto this. Any clues?

Hi stinger
take the bottom paddle out and have a look at the joint where the paddle is moulded together.
I have had a couple that have split and it causes a wave effect causing the water to come out whilst washing.

The lower spray arm Keith, sometimes they split along the seams causing this.

Yes, there should be a retainer at either side.

Thanks Craig,
I was in the process of getting a picture of the one I DO
have to show what I meant but you obviuosly know. My next
question –(dont want much!!) is would these two come with a
door seal if I ordered it?cheers

Listed as a separate part.
766330721 Right Hand Side (£3.75 exc VAT + P&P from MFI 0845 7959 722)
766330722 LHSYou might want to check with Dave if he can get it for you as part of a door seal kit since I do recall seeing this more than once. I don’t have a listing here for any kit, though; only the retainers themselves.
Listen to Dave & Bryan though; they’re not much to look at but they do know their stuff 😉

Thanks to all you guys,
I spoke to my wife about what I was asking the forum about
and she replied ” hang on a minute, I think i’ve seen one
of those in the odds and sods drawer”……….now she says!.
Anyway, safely put back in place and i’m in the process of
running it now but all seems well. I did check the paddle
though just in case but all seems ok there.BTW I searched high and low for the o-rings required to cure
my original leak in the water softener and eventually got them from
a great company called Hanshell Mouldings, found through the net, so
if any body needs these I can recommend them.thanks again
