    The UK whitegoods meeting September 2005 awards.

    1) The Dave Conway award for late arrival at the Saturday morning meeting.

    Setting a spectacular record for lateness along with a pathetic “schoolboy” excuse the award is presented to…… Penguin 45.

    2) The John Prescott 2 Jags award.

    Presented to….. John Mac and Kevin M for a fine showing of Jags.
    We have tried and failed to get John Macs acceptance speech translated in full, but he was trying to say that they have in fact got 3 Jags but only managed to bring 2 with them today. A heckler in the crowd did point out that when they had a Renault estate car, they did mange to turn up in just one car.

    3) The Kate Moss award for bad trouser wear.

    The judges were split right down the middle on this one and have decided to jointly award……Goatboy and Roly16. Congratulations to both and I guess most of us will be similarly attired next year! You trend setters you.

    4) The Pete Docherty award for burning the candles at both end

    Awarded to Eastlmark for wimping off to bed on Friday night at 9.30 muttering something about a sore throat.

    5) The G.W. Bush “Read my lips” award.

    Awarded to the directors of UKW for admitting to setting up a network after all.


    Thanks to all who attended and to the staff at the Millers Hotel, itself nominated for the BBC restoration programme but turned down due to being just too far gone.

    The award for the person that looks the most like their avatar.
    My vote is with Dave

    The award for the person that asked the most stupid question.
    I think I could win that one too, with my question about Jurgen.

    and…

    The award for the person that did the most damage to the toilet in the conference suite on Saturday morning.
    I don’t know who did it, but the paint was stripping off the walls.

    The Kevin Heath ‘Party Tricks Scholarship’.

    This accolade was voted unanimously by the panel this year to: Graeme Howard for demonstrating his skill and dexterity on the many positions and places one can put a simple drinks straw whilst seated in the bar!

    The ‘Major Motivator’ Award.

    This is a brand new award category presented to the person singled out by the panel that was deemed as being the major contribitor towards the overall success of the meeting. The first recipient of this fine award goes to Andy (APG) Once word of Andy G’s Room number spread throughout the bar, everyone was ordering drinks and putting it on his room number tab! He was last to check-out on Saturday and came to the Conference Room looking somewhat bemused by it all. Well done Andy, cheers mate and well deserved! 😆

    Far simpler and a lot more fun IMO.

    Example….

    Good sports as we’re always having funa that their expense nominees would be…

    Penguin45 (front runner given the sheer volume of p**s taking)

    Goatboy (obvious really)

    NWAR, Craig (just beacause its a really easy target)

    kheath (because he’s old and takes the gags well)

    Martin (see above ;))

    I thought the award for goatboys trousers was a bit tasteless. Due to the shape of a goats back legs they really need to be that size 8)

    I’ve just noticed that I actually won an award ! Thanks guys, I’m really touched. You’ve got to agree though that they’re very tasteful shorts. As the next meeting is in mid-winter I’ll give you all a treat and wear my favourite hat. 🙄
