ParticipantReal strange fault today on this dishwasher.
Fills and starts to wash fine, heater switches on fine then all of a sudden the spray arms stop washing and it all goes quiet but the circulation pump continues to run with no reduction in revs. After 30 seconds or so it starts washing again and then stops again and so on and on and on.
When its washing both arms are turning and the force of the water thru` the arms is good.
Never had this before so any ideas gents?.
Thanks.
Chris.

Chris,
I’m not sure totally of your description of events here 😕 As it is not unusual what you describe in as much as the flow of water through the circulating pump does fluctuated due to it (after all) being gravity fed by whats in the tub anyway 😕
If you are testing a machine that is empty of dishes, then more water is flowing about the tub anyway and will exagerate this effect. Therefore what you need to ensure is that all the pipework is clear, the water level is just lapping the salt cap and it should be OK.
I really don’t think there is a problem :con:

Think I know what you’re getting at. I had a similar fault with a Whirlpool some time back. Turned out to be a blocked sieve which prevented the water getting back to the pump quick enough.

If you can hear lots of clicking from m/c, then most certainly changeover motor on heater.

The diverter lets you choose to have a half load or full load; switching between top and bottom spray arm feeds when selected.
