    Hi,

    Machine is approx 14mths old.

This d/w is filling and emptying simultaniously at start for approx 2.5mins then begins filling only. Filling continues for approx 30secs then stops and starts emptying. The 3 LH lights flash and the light immediately to the L of the selector button is lit but not flashing and machine stops.

It will do this on whichever prog is selected.

No blockages in pressure system, pressure switch operates, heater ok, no obvious suspicious marks on control pcb.

Any pointers on this would be appreciated.

Try a reset. Do a search for Diplomat or Smeg and Reset in the forum. It’s usually the MFI versions that do this but it might have taken a power surge and defaulted to factory settings. Admittedly factory settings should suit this model but, hey, it’s got to be worth a go ❗

If the machine doesn’t fill (or drain) within it’s specified time then it can throw up this fault. If there are no blockages in the air break / regen chamber / pressure switch hose / drain hose (+ sink?) or pump then it may be a faulty pressure switch.

The machine, rightly or wrongly, thinks it can’t fill properly. Outside chance there’s a timer fault although this is unlikely.

    Thanks Craig,

I have tried searching for a reset procedure but can`t find one. Can anyone advise on this please.

As I said the machine is approx 14 mths old and clean. The water coming in has good pressure and the pump out is efficient. The pressure switch operates but am assuming the contacts are changing over. Does anyone have a part no. and price for this please.

I agree that it seems to have all the hall marks of a `time out`. What I have not witnessed working is the recirc motor. I am assuming it has`nt started because not enough water has entered but could this go into fault mode as described above if no motor action was detected.

I am again assuming it is not getting some sort of signal after this fill time has elapsed so going into fault mode. Is this a machine that can suffer with a spurious dispenser fault. My last resort is to consider the PCB is not responder…how much are they?

Would suggest trying the dispenser coil, just hook on any old valve coil to try it and at least eliminate it.

    Thanks Eastlmark,

    I will try this.

But I was attending a Diplomat wash m/c today and a similar dishwasher to my problem one was installed. I put it on the pre rinse prog to observe the begining part of the cycle. It began like the faulty machine, then the fill began and after 30 secs the recirc pump kicks in.

My problem machine goes into the error mode at this point. It seems likely then that it has a problem motor or starter cap, pcb or if the disp coil has this affect then the coil may be down. 😕

Can anyone give me a price for a motor and PCB for my customers information.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for everyones help with this.

According the LED error code, it certainly looks like a reset procedure due to a power surge or some-such-like (E7), is looking for a flow meter which is not fitted and defaulted to factory setting.

I will keep you posted on its outcome.

Hi laurence, Try reducing the fill rate to a slow trickle. If this works then its probably a blocked inlet tract into the sump .Remove the filling chamber and scrape out the sludge. The back-up of water is causing the pressure switch to operate and bring in the drain pump.

    Hi,

The problem was in fact that the PCB had reset to the factory setting and 2 mins sorted the job out. Prior to receiving this info I had already spent some time looking over the machine….this forum (and its inhabitants 😀 are priceless).

So thanks very much for your input, I am always gratefull…as are my customers 😉 .
