ParticipantHi
I have the above machine that is just over a year old. (and just out of gurantee!!!)
It washes but will not spin.
I have checked the filter and thats ok, the drum is turning ok and I can hear a motor running (I assume this is a pump) but no spin.Is there anything else (perhaps I’m missing something silly) that I can check before calling an engineer out.
Thanks in advance for any replies

The only things you can check are the filter really. This will have to be diagnosed by an engineer. Check out Repairs@ on LHS of page for one in your area.

this machine will not spin if the clothes arent evenly balanced.
check if there are enough clothes or there isnt a large single item which may have tangled together.October 1, 2005 at 5:28 pm #148965admin

hi
in what way do you mean the drum will turn ?
by hand or is it turning when its on wash cycle ?
it may well be that the belt has come off if the drum isnt turning when on wash or spin.

Hi Bryan
The drum is turning one way then the other so I assume the belt is ok
Thanks Kalta

KeymasterYes Kalta, it is. Likely a PCB failure but there’s no way that you can DIT it to be sure without replacing it.

Hi Thanks for replies.
We thought we would try a wash cycle and then just get it spun at a relatives, but the machine filled with water and filled with water which we didn’t notice untill it came out of the detergent dispenser!!!!
We managed to empty the machine by putting it onto a spin cycle then diconnected it from the mains and water. I dont’t know if this is terminal, but it looks like a callout from the experts.
Thanks again kalta

Good news! This sounds like a sludge blockage in the pressure system. The machine may think it is full when empty therefore no spin. Also it may think it is empty when full. A job for an engineer. Check out Repairs@ on LHS of page. May only be labour and/or a heater too.
