ParticipantI have Bosch Model WFF2000GB/11 FD 766902334
I get the prewash light on and notice that the washing cycle is incomplete.
I have noticed that the control dial makes a noise (as if stuck) and if i help it along it will work (if i don’t help too far!).
I’m reluctant to buy a new controller as from other posts here it may not be the problem. Any ideas?
btw, I’ve cleared the filters, pump, etc all fine.
Cheers

Pre wash light is fault indicator.
how many times it flashes, tells what is wrong with m/c.

Your machine is 9 years old now so I suspect the pump to be worn, noisy and prone to sticking. If the impellor has the least bit of lateral movement, that’s a dead giveaway (i.e New Pump required).

I just ran the machine and am getting 3 flashes on the prewash light after an incomplete cycle, does this mean the pump?
Is there a full flashing light crib sheet anywhere?
I’m going to open the pump filter later and check lateral movement…

3 flashes is indeed a pump fault or empty fault.

There’s not that much lateral movement on the pump!
Could it be possible that the controller also is sticking as well, is there a number of light flashes for this too?
Cheers,

In past experience changing the pump has cured this fault. Pump tends to misbehave after its been subjected to a wash ie heat; tends to make it seize and un seize.
Occassionally had 5p (perfect size) get wedged in spout at top of drain pump (which feeds drain hose) making it act like a throttle. Worth a check. Remove drain hose from top of pump (after draining sump down) and poke your finger down spout , if coin present will fall into impeller area. Please unplug before you attempt this :plug:

ParticipantSo I’m not alone with flashing pre-wash lights!
Hi,
So I’m not alone with flashing pre-wash lights!
I’ve a similar problem with a Bosch WFF 2000, where the pre-wash light flashes 3 times.
The machine got to the end of the pre-wash cycle and stopped with the drum full of water – it stood for 5 mins approx and then the controller advanced to the end of the programme.
From what I’ve read, it could be the pump, but if the pump programme is selected the pump comes to life with no problems; and the machine appears to work ok with normal washes. There is no noise from the pump.
I’ve noticed it only appears to happen when you use the pre-wash programme.
Any ideas before I roll up my sleeves in anger and go at the machine with a DVM in hand – Don’t worry I’ll un-plug it first, as I’m engineer trained on Valve equipment.
I’m thinking it could be a controller fault?
Terry.

ParticipantSo I’m not alone with flashing pre-wash lights (up-date)!
Ho-hum – following along from the previous post above!
The wife has just informed me is has failed in a main wash, so that bows my only when pre-wash is used theory.
But as in the previous post, if the pump programme is selected the pump comes to life with no problems; maybe this could be the heat problem as in earlier posts? But saying that I don’t hear any nose at all from the pump (I’m assuming you’ll hear some noise if its seized?).
