Ikea built in model. Washes dishes fine. Leaves dirty water in bottom of machine once finished.

If I put machine on rinse, rinse cycle ok, drains, machine at bottom empty. Water then slowly fills machine to cover maybe 20mm at base!! This looks like drainage water – ie. not from cold inlet. Could this be re-entering machine from drainage hose? Syphoning from somewhere?

It sounds very much like it. I’m guessing that the drain hose is connected to a spiggot on the sink trap ?

If it is, make sure that at some point the hose loops higher than the lowest part of the sink, that should stop it 🙂

The dishwasher is connected to the sink trap via a spigot – I am sure there was no problem for the first year…

Anyway, have now routed the drain pipe to loop up to the underside of the worktop – hopefully that will fix.

Thanks a lot for the tip!

    Cheers
    Colin
