Pass I’m afraid. I try everything to avoid repairing Hotperloni stuff, to busy repairing good stuff 😉

Re: To good to be true

    If you break it down:

    1603291 Door seal – £6.75
    1604116 Motor – £51.99
    1603287 Belt – £5.79
    089780 Descaler – £6.65
    HSE662 Red Hose – £0.75
    Hse660 Blue Hose – £0.75
    1604976 Digital Cable – £2.06

£74.74 Normal trade price but the motor can be bought a lot cheaper at £40 (ish) if you shop around.

It isn’t too bad if you need a motor for a job but I don’t think I’d order one for the sake of it to be honest 😉

Dave, I didnt have the time to do a breakdown of the prices but the fact that they listed HSE prefixes for the hoses ( Which are Connect pattern hose numbers) made me wonder. Thats why I asked for comments. And digital cables! I would have thought a heater and pump would have been more usefull.

It will be useful if they do it as an ongoing basis, when you order a motor you get some other stuff thrown in. I would much rather they just reduce the price of the motors though. Every time I do a Zanussi 1000 spin bearings job I’m left with a spare bearing spider seal since the kit also covers the old metal tub machines. I hate throwing new bits away so I now have hundreds of these seals knocking around….

    To Kevin.
If you are” too busy repairing good stuff ” it can’t be all that good.
I find Hotpoint/Creda pretty good and value for money but then I do have a history of working for Servis/Homecare/Servis UK for 20 odd years so it may have something to do with it.
Joking asppart I think Hotpoint ain’t that bad and Quite resonable to sell to my customers.

Know the feeling. Would you like some plastic pump brackets, ‘fridge ‘stat knobs & fixings, amptag insulators, etc etc to go with them? I’d throw in a few yoghurt pots if you’d pay the postage. 😆
Maybe when the WEEE comes in we can send them back to the manufacturers 💡

Re: To good to be true

    Hi Robbra,

Over the years we have had our margins squeezed by Hotpoint, they reduced the trade discount 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} in one year alone. That is {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} in Hotpoints pocket at our expense.
When Hotpoint demanded back all the extended warranty work from D&G under threat of D&G losing the contract sale, agents all over the country suddenly found themselves short of work, we lost 65 calls per month @ a cabinett price of £62.00 + Vat.

Then Hotpoint ran into service problems and we were all asked to support D&G for 3 months and help out Hotpoint. We were told by D&G not to buy in stock for this short contract, it eventually lasted 6 months. In that time Hotpoint duped several operaters into working for as little as £17 per call and eventually took all the work back again. Leaving the independents HIGH and DRY.

    Does this sound familiar?

So, if you want to sell a Hotpoint to your customer, fine. All the best to you. Having been shafted by them I will not support their sales in the after market. They can get stuffed.

However I will sell our own “project X” appliance and retain the work for 5 years and blow Hotperloni into the dim and distant past, where they belong.
Many manufacturers are quickly becoming “billy no mates” their continued shafting of the independent trade will end as we regain control of our independence, for ourselves.
So, am I the only one with this attitude, sick of being shafted?

Well if you’re talking “95” and Vouge 1, (WM) then I Partly agree but not WMA onwards.
